I called up my insurance agent today to FINALLY start a policy on my 1G, well after I read off my vin#, he pauses and goes, "uh oh, thats the turbo modle isn't it?" I get real nervous and say it is. He then replies with, " cause I can't insure you with that car." I'm now very nervous and getting real pissed. Apparently farmers has a policy or changed something so drivers under 25 (used to be 18) can't have "sports cars" ( I don't know if its as the primary driver or what). I tell him I'm 22 and I just want liability but it didn't matter, cut off age is 25. So he checks his list of "sports cars" and thank god the step child plymouth laser wasn't on there but he still has to call it in to the home office, I'm still not in the clear. I'm pacing back and fourth for 20 min. untill he calls me back saying that based on the age of the car, my age and my perfect driving record they waved it and will cover my 1G :bounce: :jammin: :woowoo:  :toast:

May I inquire what you're paying for insurance then?

Just liability, which I pay more per month on parking than I do on insurance. My rates dropped when I turned 21 and then I have a good GPA so I get another discount on top of that. Its a little more than some peoples cell phone bill.

Fuck Progressive.
I'll mention a current dilemma that another member here is having:
He buys a car with a loan, the bank makes him buy insurance that will pay the loan off in an instance where the car is totalled and not worth enough to cover what is left on the loan(GAP insurance I believe). Well shit happened and his car got stolen, the recovered, deemed totalled. That was nearly three months ago, and although the car was totalled and all necessary paperwork filed, Progressive has yet to pay off the loan as they should with the GAP insurance. So he has been forced to continue to pay the regular loan payments, plus the loan he had to take out on a new vehicle. They have to pay the loan in 90 days from the vehicle being totalled, they are milking everyday of that 90. Imagine having to pay a loan on a car you don't even own anymore, and while you did own it, you paid insurance to make sure that wouldn't happen.
Pure bullshit, fuck progressive, fuck them up their fucking ass.
Sorry for the OT, just can't stand this big corporation bullshit...
Hey austin i need that info!

I agree Fuck Prgressive.
They "investigate" most(maybe all) claims above a certain amount.I had a large vandalism claim a while back, which they "investigated".The investigation included three 3+ hour interrogations(one that was like the old school cop movie interrogations), them taking pictures of me and everything around me(for some reason?) including the entire apartment complex I lived in and me drinking beer on my balcony(for some reason?).After losing my temper to the point where the investigaters wouldn't talk to me anymore, I had to get a lawyer, which cost me $500(for him to send a couple certified letters), then finally they cut me a check. It was a nice $4700 check though.
