I'm looking for people that have worked with or have experience with electric power steering systems. I know that the NSX, S2000, MR2, and some Subarus have electric power steering. From what I've found, Honda has been the most innovate with electric power steering in their vehicles. Delphi also has a system called E-Steer that looks to be very intriguing. The reason I'm asking all this is because I'm researching the possibility of incorporating an electric power steering system into our 1/4 Scale Tractor Pulling Tractor down here at school. We can not use the standard hydraulic system because it throws too many variables into our drivetrain development.

I have no experience, but just out of curiousity, are you looking to do the electric motor driven hydraulic like the Subaru/Mr2 or the direct electric motor driven rack like the Hondas?
And IIRC vehicles as far back as the 80's(Fiero's maybe?) had such systems, you may be able to get your hands on those systems easier/cheaper than the newer systems.

I haven't gotten that far into researching yet. I'm just doing as much reading on the different systems out there right now.

Well I have gotten in touch with a "Mechatronics Technical Fellow" from the Chassis System Department of Visteon Corporation about their steering system: http://www.visteon.com/technology/automoti..._steering.shtml (http://www.visteon.com/technology/automotive/power_steering.shtml)
Just from a little browsing around their website it looks as if they design and manufacturer a number of interesting aftermarket products for vehicles.

I'm not a fan of Visteon because of past problems. If you haven't already, look into the TRW system. That will more than likely be the easiest to get hold of.
