Suspension Woes

Hey all. Well the bad news is my tread and fender decided to meet. Thus cutting into my KDW tread and bending up my fender. I have the sportline springs with tociko adjustables. I had not had any problems with clearance until I started commuting to Anoka everyday for 3 weeks. Dang frost cracks and pot holes which I could not avoid. So do you guys think a nice set of Endless Zeal B6 coilovers would do the trick?

Also do you think that it is the strut or the spring that is toasted? Or could it be upper strut mount problems?

The Sportlines on the 2G are very low. I'd swap them out for a set of Eibach Pro's, they look good but won't have you in the weeds. Struts don't make much of a difference for bottoming out if you have good springs, which you do.

You could also have the fenders rolled a bit, I seem to remember that being a common problem a few years back. I'm guessing it's your rears that are scraping.

I had tanabe 2" lowering springs on my gst. I was just careful when driving. But then again Florida and Arizona roads don't have pot holes quite like MN roads do.

It is the fronts that are scraping. you guys think it is worth it to go up to coilovers

raise the car up so you actually have suspension travel. get properly sized bumpstops.

I am thinking about going over to the ProKit from Eibach to gain some clearance and keep handling. That way I have some money to make the car faster with a bigger turbo or such.

if you mean keep handling, as in you think your sportlines are improving handling, they arent. more suspension travel = better handling. except when there is extreme travel to begin with, the lower center of gravity does not give you nearly the gains in handling to overcome the losses from very little travel. hopefully you have shocks to accompany your springs, regardless if they are sportlines or pro kits, as the stock dampers can't adequately control the increased rate.

I am currently running the Tokicos in the front (adjustable) and the moron with the car before me left stocks in back.. anyhow.. my plan is switch to agx's and see if that corrects my problem (replace upper mounts at same time)
