What does gas mileage have anything to do with a gas being good or not? I know C16 is better than both the Amoco 92 and Holiday 93, yet you will get terrible gas mileage with it unless you did some serious retuning because it is a denser fuel and tends to run much much richer than a lot of gases.

Damn, I ran Holiday gas the entire time I was home because it was the only place I knew of that sold 93. But ya, hopefully gas milage isn't the tell all say all in judging its quality. Either way I'm still no too concerned since I don't race my car around town on a normal basis.

Okay here is the scoop from my point of view. If your car is stock use at least 90 octane or higher, Furthermore Do tune -ups when they need to be done. If its gas mileage you are concerned about go buy a hybrid. When I bought my car with 98000 miles on it it had factory air filter factory plugs and probably factory wires. My air filter was so clogged full of shit and I still got 23 miles to the gallon on the first 3 tanks.1 tune up later I am achieving 28 to 31 mpg. I could really care less about gas mileage though. I bought a performance car for 1 reason and that is to perform. Whether it gets 3 mpg or 30 mpg I am still gonna drive it!!!!

I wouldn't drive a DSM that only got 3 MPG, they aren't that nice of cars. Hell, I got mad when I got under 25 mpg...this spring I was consistantly averaging over 30 mpg. Kinda funny that my 20G Talon got better gas mileage than my NT Talon.

I too get better gas mileage with either Shell or Amoco, and usually at least a few MPG less with Holiday. Amoco 92 does knock less than Holiday 93 does.

I believe it has to do with the ethanol content. It's a possibility that Holiday has a higher concentration of ethanol as opposed to Amoco.

damn my thing got 26 mpg on my drive from AZ to MN. That was the best milage I've ever gotten. That was like all freeway miles and no like quick accelerating or anything like that. Around town I usually don't even get 20. WTF is up with that.
