If someone wanted to buy a car from me, what do I do with the title? Do I get all the info from the buyer, write it down on the title, then submit it in to the Dep. of Public Safety? Or does the Buyer and seller (me) have to submit this sales transaction together at the DPS?
Here's what I think I would do. I would sell the car, let the buyer drive away with the car, and then within 10 days of the transaction, I submit the info myself that I sold the car. Am I correct? or I'm I doing this all wrong?

Well I am not sure exactaly, But there should be a part on the title fill that out with all the info from the guy and both of you sign it and he goes to the DMV and switches his name to the title pays the fee's and his copy should come in the mail. If your not sure go to a smaller dealership or just go to the DMV and ask them how it should be done. :goodluck:

There is a portion on your title that has buyer information. Have the new owner fill out that info in front of you and sign it. And there is a section for you to fill out and sign. Once you have there money, you can give them the title. There is a small thing to rip off the title for you to keep. The new owner should take the title to the DMV within a few days and transfer it over.
The titles are kind of confusing to fill out, so if it doesn't make sense on what to fill out, just meet the new owner at any DMV office and go in together to fill it out. Then you know it will be done right. Signing the title is a valid contract and transaction so make sure to get there money at that point.
