<rant>I personally cant stand Okey since he sold out.... I use to like his older stuff back in the day but lets face it, his music now followes the $$$ I guess the thing I really hate about Okenfold is that Americans are for the most part clueless to the EM scene (hell everyone I know calls all forms of EM "techno") and because of their cluelessness they think that Okenfold is some sort of pioneer or somthing because thats the ONLY name their puny culturally challanged minds have been exposed to... </rant> besides that sounds like a good time

I agree!
I've been listening to a lot of DnB (drum and bass for you noobs) lately and I'm sick of it being called techno...

Tacyon....
Ignorance is bliss, i don't see anywhere where i put any other dj's down .. It was fun time yes. Honestly there was only two sets that were good out of the whole night. I think i liked Sandras last set as much as anything else .. but it couldn't top out the second to last set from oakenfold. Some of his old hard beats.. There are many others that i'd rather listen to than Oakenfold... i'd love to go to some Cristal Method, PaulVanDyk, MarcoV, DjDoboy, Tiesto, Armin Van Buuren, Dj Jose..... Most of the Kraftwerk stuff is good too.
The "Techno" here in USA is no where near as it is over seas... The clubs here are pathetic, but they are getting up there... If i ever win a lottery i'll be making a european style club up here!!!
also it sounded like you needed to be impressed by our choice of listenning and "newbiness" want me to start throwing some old scool dj's from early 90's who you probably haven't even heard of? Like for example Choci, Rocket Ron, remember mostly due to name Jon the Dentist....
Oh well.. no biggie...
Its a blast and i think paul VanDyke is coming up here to Escape on the 19th ... anyone interested?

I'm still fucking confused. Who is this shmuck? Anyone cool like 2pac or biggie?
Maybe Tacyon can answer that question, he seams to know more of the "techno" culture details ;)

He had "starry eyed suprise" and some other song that was pretty popular. My ex used to love him.

Uh yeah, or maybe it's because before people like yourself felt the need to classify every form of EM, all EM WAS refered to as "techno". I'm not sure but maybe that has something to do with it?
thats because there are many forms of Techno, and i for one don't like them all. WHy don't we just call all music simply music.. it needs to be distinguished between the ganras.
