I was wondering if there is someway to make my shifter be a lot shorter in height. It is stock except I have an aftermarket shift knob but it sits very tall and it blocks the view of my cd player. I was wondering if there is somway to cut it down without hurting my transmission and stuff?

You can cut it and retap the threads, but you lose some of the mechanical advantage making it harder to shift.Cutting and retapping is not easy either. You could cut a piece out of the center and weld it back together too.

I bought a Razo shift knob that sits much lower than stock... I can sell it to you as I want to buy a different one.... Its used though...
Or pm Raptor as he can help you. (welding, etc)
Or buy a B&M short shifter and get a stock 2G shift knob. Thats the best setup on a 2G!
i have a B&M shifter i got for $110 a month ago, if you want i will sell it to you for same price..... usualy they are $160...
The reason why i am selling is because the car is down for the winter and i'm taking it apart..

I second that.
Get a short shifter. I have one, quite a difference too.

Yep, shifting much quicker now :bounce: . BTW, what would you want for your shift knob Peter? I may be interested.
