Hi Guys- Well, I figured i would give a it a shot at fixing this problem before the next owners take delivery of the Laser this week.

It's as simple as the topic says: My radiator fan doesn't turn on, which means after idling for a couple minutes the temp rises up and doesn't come back down of course untill driving and getting cool air moving. I have not let it get to the point of overheating, and have been watching it like a hawk. I have also noticed since the problem started, the CEL closest to the steering column on the left hand side (I believe it's the coolant light?) stays on regardless of coolant temp?

Fuses are good, and went over the wiring and proved to be intact.

Is there a relay or coolant temp switch that could be causing this? Or do you think the fan motor is out?

Thanks!

Gary

There are usually relays in the fuse box located in the engine compartment. They should be labeled clearly, marking which are for the radiator/AC fans.

The coolant temp swich is usually mounted in the radiator, or possibly by the thermostat housing. Just a simple fitting that goes directly into the coolant and has a wire or two coming from it.

My thermo-sensors burned out a while ago also. Fans stopped working, i overheated :(.

Anyhoo, i didnt feel like fixing the stock set-up so i simply ran it as a single system. The fans getting power from the battery, running into a switch in my dash. I can turn then on whenever i want now :). If ya like that route, it's easy to do.

There are relays in the engine compartment as Matt said. It is marked on the cover: radiator fan. Move the relays around and see if it works. If I remember correctly, they are all the same (~5 or them). There is a temp sensor on the bottom of the radiator. It has a white plug and the pass side fan connects to it.
