There are 4 marks on the timing cover, which one is zero though? There is a 10 mark but thats it. The other 3 marks arent numbered.

Engrish man, Engrish!!

If it just jumped one tooth you should be ok. If it jumped 2 teeth, then you may have problems. Over 2 teeth and you are almost definately in trouble. Check out the VFAQ's for items to buy.

If you need me to I can come check it out with the boroscope to make sure there isn't valve to piston damage. Call the shop if you want more info. QPR that is.

ok, how dirty is is supposed to be inside the timing belt cover. its reallly greasy and dirty? Can I just get a timing belt from checker or should I go to mitsu? How about a waterpump? just wondering because i get a deal through csk proshop, making things alot cheaper.

also, what is the procedure to line up all the timing marks since my belt jumped a tooth?

I would buy the parts through Mitsu. You may as well replace the water pump and maybe the tensioner while you are in there. How long has it been since your car has had a t-belt job? You might as well replace teh b-shaft belt or remove it.

As far as the oil and grease, you may need a seal on the front of your engine. Feel the seals on the front case and see if they are like plastic or rubber.
