Top Wont Go Up/down

i have a 98 GST spyder and last week my top started to ast all funny, like one of the joints was sticking. yesterday i couldnt get my top up, i can hear the motor trying to do something but nothing happens. finally i got pissed and pulled it up manually. then today i go to put it down and i thought it might work, but NO so i pushed it back a bit then i pushed the button while pushing it back and it sarted to work, then it just slammed down. should i take it somewhere to get fixed or is it maybe something easy that i can do.

Pull out your manual and figure out how it works, then check to see where the problem might be.

took the whole back of my car apart and took out both motors and one of them works but then you put you finger on the gear it just stops and the other one you do that and it doesnt stop, so i took the motor apart and a little thing is broken, not to sure if i need a new motor, im going to try everything i can to get it to work

Does anyone know of anyplace or anyone that does welding?a small weld or 3 will do the trick. but i dont know what places or people do that.

If you are looking for something delicate, take it to Mike at QPR (TIG). If it is a little larger piece, I can MIG it.
