So a friend that had 1000awhp 1g in the town next to me is getting out of the scene for a while to work on his business and has offers me his 2.4 aluminum rod block.

I don't know anything about 2.4 but that it would be better for my road racing car is what I'm thinking.

Here's what I know about it.
200 miles on it (was out of a grudge race car so I'm sure most of these are racing miles)

info in the block:
-4g64 block out of an Expo van bored .20 over
-Groden standard length aluminum rods
-JE 9:1 compression ratio pistons
-Mach V billet main caps
-oringe
-comes with front case.
-been sitting for 2yrs. With oiling periodically.
-it was pulled as he went 2.0 for safer higher revs.

That's about sums it up...

What do you all think? What would be the price you put on it?

I've already bought about 10 items from this guy over the past year... all if which has been as advertised and I've been to his house.

Was researching aluminum rods last night.

And although most of it was from big block forums.

Most say they are for drag use, can DD but not recommended. And no information on road racing.. but I'd imagine if they arent recommend for dailing.. rr would he even worse for them.

The complete bottom end is only $800 which is why it peaked my interest.

Any final thoughts before I make my decision?
