Catch cans and direct injection

I see a lot of people doing this on trucks like I have and while doing some research I came across this article, now I get they are trying to sell their product.

But the DI stuff is new to me, i wanted some other opinions from my fellow chevystyle members.

What year is your truck? There is zero reason to put a catch-can on a gen V DI small block; more often than not they create more problems than they solve.

I have no plans to do a catch-can on my Terrain either, which is a 2.4L DI inline 4.

BMW's have a terrible problem with coking, but that is a BMW issue not inherent to all direct injection engines (proper valve cover ventilation and crankcase scavenging engineering is key).

A lot of people say that with the injection being directly in the cylinder that the intake valve builds up a lot of gunk and has no way to be cleaned unless specifically doing it.

Get a water/meth kit..would help with carbon build up. Once it builds up their is nothing to be done except pull the heads and clean them. The carbon cleaners do nothing.

No need on a 2016. A lot of people on the internet are also retards, so...yeah. With properly engineered valve cover baffles and PCV system there is nothing to "gunk" up the backside of intake valves as long as you run a quality air filter.
