Black-cap '94 Cas

What is the big deal about this particular black plastic cap cam angle sensor? It is what my car has and when people email me asking which I have they make a huge deal about how it has to be the black one. Someone offered me $30 for it....is that a decent price or is it worth more? Thanks guys....

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong but the CAS on the 7 bolt 1G heads is an optical sensor and the 6 bolt heads are something else.

It looks mechanical. It has a piece that slides in to a slot on the cam and just spins with the cam.

Yes, the black plastic cap one is the 1G Optical cam sensor and it is worth way more than $30. I sold one in Hawaii for $110. Optical cam sensors are supposed to be way more acurate than a standard sensor......both work though. I dunno? Keep it as a spare!

I wish I had one for a spare.

I thought 94s had the hall effect sensors not sure though.Anyway optical sensors are LESS accurate and far less reliable than the newer hall effect/variable reluctance sensors.I don't know why they are worth more(harder to find?), but yeah I believe they go for like $75 at least
