This is what I was doing on Saturday @ Texas Motor Speedway!

The guy who took delivery has been a very good friend of mine for years; I couldn't be more excited for him! Absolutely amazing car, leaps & bounds ahead of the gen 5 (2010-2015). This was #33 off the assembly line, 1-32 are all press/GM test vehicles.

I got a dumb question. How does chevy name the engines exactly? Does LT1 mean something specifically different than LS1? Didn't they used to be called LT engines like 20 years ago? Did they change something that makes them more like the old LT engines or is it just completely random, decided it was time for a letter change?

No idea to be honest with you. There was a LT1 years ago as well like you mentioned, but that engine and this one aren't really related in any way. I'm not sure how the naming structure works or why they brought that designation back. The biggest differences in this engine from the LS3 is the fact is now has cylinder-deactivation and variable valve timing.

She asked him if she could take him for a ride in it too and his response was, "HELL YEAH!!!" I'll post up more pics as he takes them, for now the best ones are in the press release and news articles.

I hope he keeps this one for a long time! He's flipped through multiple Evos since I've known him.
