Rpm Overload

I would like to know how high you have had your RPMs. wheather you planed to or not. My personal best is 8656 rpms :jammin: so says the AFC. oh ya that was a "oh shit" shift. :headache: :censored:

I can't remember who, but someone around here a while ago missed a shift and their SAFC pegged at 9999.

I had one of those "oh shit" shifts a long time ago. I saw the needle come back from around 9000....Scared the hell out of me!!!!

I brought my car to 8500 daily. And Mara's to a good 10,000+ once. The clutch and valves didn't like that much.

Yeah I was 50ft away when that happened by the traps and I have to tell you it sounded like a crotch rocket downshifting and hitting 10000rpm. Either that or a Honday at Rock Falls downshifting just before they hit the traps to get a even 18 sec pass. :lol:

Well looking at my RPM V.S. Gear / speed sheets, the most mine could have gone to was 9800. (3-2 shift) And that's if the clutch got it all the way up there, which it got close.

Shane, just an FYI, if you had Mara's car to 7500 when you did the good old 3-2, like we all have, and the clutch got fully hooked it would be almost 11,500 RPM. That's just going of RPM V.S. Gear/Speed calculations.

Ive never done a 3-2 shift except on purpose downshifting ;) I think the max Ive had mine is like 7000- I just didnt want to hurt my precious.

I've done a 5th to 2nd once by mistake... trying to be a badass and downshift to 4th... it was more like 'oh shit' and the clutch went back in as I saw a huge cloud of smoke out of the exhaust... luckily everything still checked out. :jammin:

9XXX mishifting a week after buying the car. Done it twice during that week and never again.

0 since a few months ago, then I think they hit 1200 on cold start-up :).
The stealth hasn't seen a misshift that has brought it over 7k the Highest I've been in a dsm was something like 8xxx on an afc.
