I'm glad reality is starting to hit these idiots. That'll be the next city/state to have a mass exodus of companies and jobs after CA.

^Chili's already has these here in Dallas, so does Olive Garden. Quicker, easier, and more accurate. Order, pay, etc. right at the table with a little touchscreen kiosk.

The technology is already there to almost completely automate a McDonalds right now. A lot of the food plants I go to have automation for everything.

I'm not sure that I would want that at a full service restaurant. One of the reasons I go to my favorite local joints is because some of the staff knows me and I know them. Part of what I'm paying them for is their service, including their personality. I like that they have that thing to pay when I'm finished, rather than wait. But I still want someone to come to the table and tell me about specials, and recommend things.

I can't wait until they have these near me. I will go out of my way to eat there and use these!

I can understand that, and agree, for a local type place, but for a chain bar & grill type place with a set menu that doesn't vary much..meh...give me the kiosk. I like the personal attention and conversation with the bartender when sitting at the bar, but it's not like table waitresses at Applebee's are amazing intellectual conversationalists

I actually have lunch plans at Olive Garden tomorrow so I'm going to do my best to use only the touchscreen and avoid any personal interaction with staff to see if it's 100% possible (besides the person who brings the food out) :D

*edit*
Crap, wait, those plans changed...nevermind.
