Does anyone have any info on where I could get one rebuilt?

Or is it a simple DIY?

I know jacks does it for $650
Boostin- upgrade for $950
TMZ - I have emailed.

But a few years ago this was a $300-350 service, so I'm curious if someone is still doing it for this price or the how to is out there.

I've got the overhaul instructions on Alldata if you want them. Looks like it requires a special tool to check "bevel gear rotating drive torque" so it might not be a simple diy job.

Its a simple job. I can offer some advice. Factory service manual describes gear mesh and backlash checks as well as procedure for shimming. Shims are hard to find, I had to get them ordered from dealers all over the country. Probably could get some custom made.

I have all the special tools.

I could potentially be convinced to rebuild it for you at a fraction of the cost as these other places. Before that though, you should look at the condition of the teeth in the input socket of the transfer case. Seems like a large majority of the ones you come across these days are very worn and sawtooth'd. At that point it is probably best to find another core.

I have 8 T-cases to choose from so hopefully one is good. I just want a good solid non-leaking T-case.

Yeah, as long as they are not leaking and the input shaft isn't borked, I can't imagine anything going wrong with them (Unless you splode it drag racing). They seem pretty trouble free as long as you keep fluid in them.

I rebuilt some because i'm anal and building an endurance race car. Probably didn't need to though.

I also did a number of rear diffs, those are even easier than T-cases.

I'm sorry to say I probably have close to that amount... all in pieces :(

I think out of the ~8 I started with, 2 had workable input shafts.

I also mixed and matched to make an all aluminum case on the variant that did not originally come that way.
