You know whats funny about that, probably happens all the time. but when the CEL comes on there own car they just ignore it.

Do those updates even do much from year to year for like the $200 they usually cost?
Year to year you won't see much difference, but after a few you will, especially with any major construction projects. POI's are also updated which is nice while on roadtrips. With my dad's being nearly a decade outdated, it's definitely due. I believe his disc is v2005, the most recent C6 disc is v2013.
