i recently drove to florida and in the south it was awesome to see tons of giant billboards saying "silencers are legal" "silencers are legal for hunting"

Yep, that d bag Mark Dayton actually signed it, not that he really had a choice.
He did sneak in the right for felons to vote at the end though.

I was looking for more information on this, but it looks like it goes in to effect August 1st? Definitely want one for the AR because it is way too loud.

We still need to buy the tax stamp though correct? Similar to SBR which is like 200 and 6 months of waiting?
Regardless, this is cool. I want to build an SBR next with suppressor, would be fun.

Yes, still requires the federal tax. The new law just makes them legal to use in MN. Like nearly every other state. Only a few states have banned them, unfortunately one of them is still Iowa.
And yes Goodhart, they are not cheap. You can easily spend 1k-2k on a nice one with the tax.
or you can check out the many you tube vids on how to make your own and when you do, you don't got to jail for it. ;)
