Next cruise I'm bringing my car to whoop some ass (pending no rain).
Frum rolls for whoever wants them :) plus twisties of course
Edit: thanks again to the TX guys who allowed me to ride in their awesome cars. Best smorgasbord of cars I've ever had the experience to ride in, period.
I can't wait to see that thing in action! Glad it all worked out to where we were still able to get you in attendance for the cruise, and I enjoyed you co-piloting :D
Us TX guys would love to see a few of you make the trip south for our 5th annual Shreveport trip. We're leaving Dallas on Saturday, August 22nd to spend the night in Shreveport hitting some intense twisties through three national forests and eating BBQ along the way. I've currently got Scheides and Knoxville as maybes; if anyone else is even remotely interested let me know and I'll get you the information to look at!

You will have the best car hands down, I'm soooo amazed by that car.

As soon as I can get something worth a damn (READ: NOT A DSM) I'm game.
That sounds awesome and it's my bday weekend.

I could seriously be tempted by this.. I'd probably rent something from Dallas if I didn't have a better car by then. Fly down and fly back. hmmm

Do it...both of you! I've sent invites to the event page on Facebook. This is always a very fun trip, I've been putting it on for 5 years now and tweak the route each year to keep improving. It gives you a great taste of what east TX/Piney Woods has to offer, then spits us out at the riverboat casinos in Louisiana.

Dates: Saturday, August 22nd through Sunday, August 23rd
Meeting Time: 7:00AM
Meeting Location: Einstein Bagels - Dallas, TX (https://goo.gl/maps/ej0jk)
Destination: Boomtown Casino Hotel - Bossier City, LA (https://goo.gl/maps/UaEpt)
Total Distance: ~600 miles roundtrip
Event page & registration (Facebook): 2015 5th Annual Shreveport Cruise (https://www.facebook.com/events/796445260475510/?notif_t=plan_user_joined)
Boomtown (https://www.boomtownbossier.com/) will be the official hotel. Room prices start at $169/night on Expedia (http://www.expedia.com/Shreveport-Hotels-Boomtown-Casino-Hotel.h1039907.Hotel-Information?chkin=08%2F22%2F2015&chkout=08%2F23%2F2015&rm1=a2#rooms-and-rates). We'll have tons of fun as a group Saturday night; dinner, drinking, gambling, etc. in the casinos and other local establishments within walking distance, and finally meet back up Sunday morning for a brunch buffet (optional of course) before heading home.
The exact route is going to remain private to prevent law enforcement from staking it out (yes, it's happened), but will be similar to the previous years' routes that everyone has loved! Maps of the exact route will be provided to all drivers the morning of the cruise; this will ensure everyone knows exactly where we're going just in case the group happens to get separated. We will make regrouping stops as required to keep everyone together though and we have a lunch spot about halfway through. It should be a very fun and scenic route taking us through three national forests! Sunday morning will be an easy < 3 hour drive home on Hwy 20.
Unfortunately E85 stations will not be available outside DFW until Bossier City, LA so please make alternate arrangements whether it be carrying spare jugs in your trunk or switching over to a pump gas tune when needed. If you're tuned on E85 please make sure to have the appropriate tune or OTS map loaded into your handheld or laptop so you can switch over quickly at a gas station.
Everyone is welcome to join so please feel free to bring your spouse, significant other, friends, etc. I hope to see all the regulars plus some new faces!

Sounds awesome! We'll see how my vacation/the rest of my racing season looks as we get closer and go from there. I'd love to make another trip down!
