99% of you guys on here are way more tech advanced than myself.

But I was looking into programming the homelink in our vehicles finally since they have alarm systems in them.

I'd like to do the garage door (duh), the outside lights and entryway light.

Has anyone done this or anything else like this?

My dad owns a low voltage electronics company called Lakeway Custom Electronics. Call him at 651.653.2077 and explain you're from Mitsustyle and Adam sent you. He can tell you all the ins, outs, good, and bads of such systems, what to look out for, and who to go to. He has installed a few and works with security, home automation, home theatre and more.

Let us know what you find out! I would love to put the front and porch lights on this too.

Ive had one of these controlling my outside lights for the past couple years, installed it when we moved in. Never have to turn on outside lights again.

For other automation, look into the belkin Wemo products that you can control from your phone, or you can get a full blown system like this, which Ill be doing this next year. No need to incorporate into your car...

You can control everything from a smartphone or tablet no matter where you are. Anything from sprinkler control to garage door opener, lights, outlets, and cameras.

^Look at you!!

Nice, i saw that timer switch thing too.

The homelink part, I was just thinking since I have the extra buttons and then the times when you leave and forget to turn the lights on.

Do you set that timer twice a year for the changes in daylight or just say F it and set it and go?

Timer automatically changes for daylight savings, but I change the turn on to whenever it starts to get dusk a couple times per year, since winter it is drastically sooner than in summer.

I have homelink on my visor for the audi, never used it, I even use my regular garage door opener on the visor instead lol!
