50 trim setups are usually the best/highest recommended, once you keep wanting more top end.

Good luck to you. You should come up for PG2
Yeah, I don't make upgrades though unless I get killer deals. This car is the definition of a budget setup haha.

What's PG2? Might be to far for me right now being down in SE Iowa unless it's during the fall semester when I'm up in Northern Iowa for school.

Anyways tonight I decided to go on a long cruise since I had a 3/4 full tank of e85 to burn through before I drop the tank, and it was also pretty nice out so figured a nice cruise and little photoshoot would be a good time.

Yeah I won't lie for $3500 it had more wrong than I thought, mainly things such as wiring/fuel tank/headgasket and for awhile there I regretted buying it. However after a couple months of owning it and getting things ironed out and then after doing the headgasket and fixing a lot of other misc things - I have no regrets at all. I maybe have $4500 into the car at this point, and for as reliable as it has been overall the past couple months and as good as it runs now, it has been a solid car for the money in it.

Pulled the pump/sending unit out tonight finally... I figured I need to do something to keep it from driving since it was finally low on gas and if I didn't make it undrivable I'd probably go fill the tank again and then have to drive it for another week to empty it. I haven't wanted to pull it because I was afraid the last two studs would snap and I wouldn't be ready to re-stud it at the time. I really wanted to see the condition of the strainer/pump.

Pump seems good, strainer definitely looks like it could use replaced. Tank is surprisingly decent looking on the inside from what I could see straight in and with a mirror.
Will probably work on pulling the tank out tomorrow

What's in this picture is all that was left of the seal, and only two studs left unbroken. Any time I've filled up the car or taken turns while the car is full has caused me to coat the ground with fuel ever since I bought the car.

Welcome to Styles! My fuel gasket is gone too so I can only fill my gas 3/4 of the way. Hopefully you make it to the Mitsu Cookout.

Car looks good. Glad it's running good on the evo3. Definitely a clean car and I wish I never sold it.

Thanks! it definitely isn't perfect but its better than a lot of them anymore.

I actually just talked about the car a lot today with my buddy Eric the first time we got in depth talking about it. He bought it stock in like 03-04 or something and ended up with a GT35R/stock motor setup that was probably around 450-500whp. He had it painted a year or so before he sold it.

I need to get the rear bumper repainted though, has big piece of paint missing from someone hitting it at school this last semester. Got quoted $200 so hopefully will get it done in the next year.

Anyways tonight I pulled the tank. Think I'm going to spend some time on the rear and area in general to clean it up and look at bushing shape since even though a lot of suspension was all new at 144k, the whole rear area as you can see from the below pics looks like it could use attention/cleaning/refurbishing.

Also pulled the alternator/wastegate/fuel rail/injectors. Going to warranty my alternator for the 4th time since I've had the car, advance keeps giving me shit alternators, this one has charged fine but the pulley makes noise. Putting my injectors up for sale. Tomorrow I'll pull the bumper to get the intercooler & piping all out to give it to my buddy to weld beads along the edges so hopefully next time at the track i wont blow the piping off again. He's also going to just weld new studs in the tank for me, so it'll actually be done right. I've been tuning his turbo gy6 mini razor atv, so he's doing it for free. Pretty stoked

Checked the 16g for play, still like new - little sucker is definitely being good to me.

Got the fic 950's sold and shipped out.

Got the fic 1150's dropped off with a buddy who services/cleans them with his flowbench and installs new seals on them.

Another buddy is parting out his 1g and swapping most of his stuff into his 2g, so I'm stealing some parts.
Picked up his Eprom ECU with V3 for my car. Trying to sell my ECU with its V2.5 right now. I'll sell it for $490 shipped for anyone interested here. That includes my 1g Eprom Ecu with the ECMLink v2.5 and the original cable - all in pristine condition.

Then also I'm taking the entire interior out of his car he is giving it to me for free. It's all gray cloth. I really don't like my leather, and my front seats are very worn. So I'm just going to swap all his cloth to my car and toss my interior into his 1g, or at least the front seat.

Also got my new(used) no-name o2 housing that will be going onto my car.

dropped off new studs/nuts and other misc hardware/materials to my fabricator friend who is fixing up my fuel tank for me.
Out of town til Monday, so hopefully Monday night I'll tear into the car to try to get the interior swap started. Once the fuel tank is done, all I need to do is get the ecu back in, injectors in, new alternator in, get the tank in - and she'll be ready to fire back up. Really don't expect to run any faster or anything. Just hopefully overall the car will be a bit nicer after fixing some of these issues that have plagued me since I got it.

out with the old, in with the new

Sold the dsmlink v2 so my v3 is mostly paid for now!

Came back home today from spending the weekend in cedar falls, swung by to pick up some wheels from a guy off craigslist. 4 GST wheels in good shape (by that I mean no bends/bad rash) that just need cleaned and the plastidip stripped off and then re-painted. I'll probably just plastidip them again. Only paid $50 for the set, going to put my basically new street tires on them so I can quit putting wear on my drag radials from daily driving on them.
