Has anyone else ever had a similar issue?

I have a Walbro 400, and twice now I've run in to this issue where the hose attached to the top of the pump becomes crimped. So much so that it sheers a hole through the hose.

The temporary fix (lasted about 6 months), was to clip off the end of the hose and reclamp the now fresh hose. But it's happening again. It's a 15 minute fix, but I don't really want to have to do this every 6 months.

Anyone know of a way to address this?

What kind of hose are you using? I've had mine in the car for like 2 years, no issues.

Is it a 400 or a 450(e85 version)?

Also, didn't I help you fix this in a parking lot last year at Proving Grounds?

Are you using the proper quality in-tank submersible Gates fuel hose? It should be about $15/ft so if you're paying much less than that, that answers your question :)

Yup, depending where you buy it and what size, I paid closer to $30/ft.

I just bought whatever fuel hose from Napa, been in mine for years. I probably did pay $15/ft though.

The SAE 30R10 hose that is e85 safe submersible sucks for using in tank. The X hanger needs hose that is more flexible.

There are several ways to get flexy hose that is e85 rated.

I had the 30R10 stuff (the 15/ft stuff or more) in my car at one point and it just sucks to work with.
