Trying to help a buddy out. He just picked up a 91 Stealth Twin Turbo a few weeks ago. He was told it only needed synchro's for 3rd and 4th. I took it for a drive and its kinda weird. It grinds going into 2nd unless your very nice to it, and 3rd is nowhere to be found. You can go from 2nd to 4th with minimal grinding if your nice.
I manually put the car into 3rd gear, and it will engage. Did the same with 4th gear and same result. Both gears engage and the car will attempt to move.
Can this be a cable problem? I tried to adjust it a bit, but didn't help. Any other suggestions for me to check out?
If its internal, who's good at rebuilding these transmissions. lol.
