Hey guy's so I had sold that 98 Eclipse RS and the guy came to pick it up today and it has a crank but no start symptom.

I HAVE CHECKED:
Power at pump...There is none.
Ground at pump and it has ground.
Jumped the fuel pump with a battery and it works fine.
Power at the relay and it has power to everything but the fuel pump wire (black W/ blue stripe) Have tried 2 new relays with same results
I have jumped the relay from the voltage source going to the relay that has power to the fuel pump wire (B/BL) and it activated the pump fine.
Checked for power at the ASD relay and it gets power, Also replaced this relay at the same time as the Fuel pump relay.

It did pop the main engine fuse and would pop it immediately upon inserting a new one so I thought short somewhere or the computer kicked it out. Unplugged the batt. for 10 mins and hooked it back up to rule out computer and it hasn't popped the fuse yet.

I also noticed that the check engine light doesn't come on at all when turning the key from off to the on or start position (no flashing) Any thoughts on this? Was told that it means the computer is bad.

Here's what I know: Key on

ASD Relay:
B/R going to ASD relay has no power
R/B leaving ASD has power
B/W leaving ASD has power
R/W from ASD to PCM has power

Fuel Pump Relay:
R/B has power
B/W has power
W/R has power
B/BL to fuel pump has no power

I have a 99 5 speed ecu you can borrow to test to see if that solves the problem. I'll send you a pm with my number.

Well swapped ECUs and still same problem. Check engine light flashed once before I heard the fuse main engine fuse pop again. It's getting shorted somewhere.

Start checking the starter wiring and all the other wiring by the fuse box.

Alight so I noticed something, not sure if they are connected or not but the main fuse wont pop until I put the ignition switch fuse in. Once both are in it pops the main one.

Start disconnecting components on those circuits individually until you can put a fuse in without it popping.

Well I gave up out of frustration with the guy stopping by every 2 hours to see if it was finished or not. Sent it to goodyear and they called back after 3 hours and said it was a mess and couldn't find the problem and claimed it to be "done for". So looks like I will be towing it back to my house and ripping it all apart/ taking the remote start and security system that was hacked together out.

Which Goodyear? The guys at my old shop don't just give up. There is always a way to fix a car.
