So an old friend of mine who lived in mn from 98-2000. And who I worked with in florida from 04-05.

Just bought a 97 gst 76, 000 miles on it but sat in the previous owners garage for 5yrs prior to sale.

AnyratAny rate bone stock car. But now the car will randomly die at idle. And regularly die at idle when he pushes in the clutch.

Anythoughts as to why? My first response was crankwalk. But wanted to see /here from you all since I've been put of the game for 6yrs.

Thanks for the help

Yep, you are right probably. Time for a 6 bolt!

I concur as well.

could be crank walk, especially since sitting without proper oiling and then trying to start it with the clutch pressed prob didn't help. could also be a dragging clutch. i would consider looking into that before i dropped the pan. I have a fresh built 7 bolt short block if he needs one and doesn't want to go 6bolt. I feel like disconnecting the clutch switch, proper oiling, and a proper set up clutch is a way to combat the whole crank walk thing. just my opinion though

Dragging clutch wouldn't die when you push the clutch in...

K owner wanted me to post that it only does this once the car gets warm.

Same prognosis? Or does this mean possibly something else?

less oil pressure? just a thought than when you first start the car you have high oil pressure.

yes jet not quite sure what i was getting at, for some reason i wasn't thinking.
