Power Loss

i'm not sure if this is the correct place to post this question but.........
what is the average % power loss through the drivetrain on awd mitus?
more specificaly my evo. anyone know?
i had mine dynoed and was just wondering?

I remember hearing somebody say that it was 10% on a 90-99 DSM, I am not sure about an EVO though. Should be the same.

Few people have hard evidence on actual drivetrain loss, so unless you put your motor on an engine dyno, dont go around telling people how much "bhp" your car has. It usually just makes you look bad.

I've heard closer to 20% but it could be wrong. You would definately have to have it engine dyno'd to find out. Whatever you do, don't trust what the manufacturer claims as bhp.

I've heard 10% on fwd and rwd vehicles and close to 20% on awd vehicles. But like I said before, I could be wrong.

everywhere i've read is that its about 25% for awd
about 35% on automatic awd
about 15% on fwd manual
and about 25% on automatic fwd

but thats just what i have heard...

I have heard roughly 20% loss on a AWD manual and 9% on a FWD manual dsm. What did you put down for numbers? I take it you are disapointed???

I have heard a lot of talk about this. A 2wd is usually 12-15% and the mitsu AWD is ~20% with Suby being closer to 25%. Auto's usually add about 10% more loss.

thanks guys i was just wondering for info purposes. i was only slightly disapointed with my numbers. 240.8@5kwhp and 246.6@7kwhp it hit peak torque 4k, 264.5 ft lbs.
i thoght it would be a bit more, like an inch over 250. i think it would be there with race gas. my run was on 92 octane.

Sounds like you have pretty much the same setup as Ryan. Not sure if your exhaust is turbo back or not but you should be higher than that. I think thats the only thing that he might have that you don't have.

ryans puttin out more boost and ran race gas. my exhaust is cat-back.
