Vinyl wrap the wood grain with brushed aluminum and I think it will sporten up that interior nicely.

Yeah that's what I've been thinking about!
I've seen some dark grey brushed aluminum that looked nice as well.

I am totally an old man now, because I like the wood grain :)
You could try that hydro-dip process too, but you'd have to completely remove them.

Exactly what I suggested this weekend, that process is perfect for this (and how most factory "wood" grain is done).
Bringing it on the cruise?? I had a blast with mine last cruise! I was amazed at the cornering ability and how effortless it was, but still involving. Not like hustling a dsm/evo around!
