noob question but will a 2.4l hyundai sonata shortblock from early 90's be a direct bolt up for a 6 bolt head and does it have same engine mounts? Im trying to put together my project and have no idea.. what is the difference from a g4cs and a 4g63? What problems will i run into?

The only things you can use from that is the block and crank. Everything else bolts up but you can't just slap a 4g head on it, the pistons are completely different and not compatible.

ok my bad.. i guess i didnt tell you everything.. the 2.4l is fresh built with new wiseco pistons and eagle rods with a oem crank. And im bout to get a 6 bolt long block which im trying to use the head for the build. Does that seem right? Or should i go a different route. Not a dsm expert yet so i got quite a bit of research to do to piece this together.

Yes, that's exactly what I have in my car except I switched to a 2g head last year. Great street engine.

Plus I believe you don't have to block coolant holes big plus. I made good power on my 2.4 last year just beware of torque lol.

just did that one last season. but yeah why not man. what kind of power are you shooting for, turbo? etc.. you must have been the one who called me asking if my block was a hyundai lol. the most important part of your build will be the timing and there are lots of posts on that on the webs or I can put up a picture of how the cam gears will look with 63 cam gears.
