View Full Version : adjust timing belt , help asap!!!!

Hey guys. Im in a huge predicament. My tune is tomorrow morning. Popped my hood to freshen and inspect everything for tomorrow's tune, only to find my t belt loose. If theres anyone that can swing by give me a hand that wwould be awsome. I have beer n cash. Call text me 952 242 6206

fuck man i was just in MG, i just got home.
FYI the belt will be loose when the motor isn't running is some positions and then tighten up once you start it again. I know I've worried about mine in the past being on the loose side and it was ok.
How loose? like an inch deflection on the cam gears? that would be ok.

I can wiggle it freely. And most likely could slip it off of the cam gear. Im in Brooklyn center right now with the car.

Post a vid. Odds are like Aaron said your at a point in the compression stroke where the belt is loose. Start it and check it again.

Ya there are a few spots were the valve springs will compress the adjuster. Start the motor, and check again after turning it off.
