Be there for a few days just wondering if there's anything to do? Good bars? Ones to avoid? Titty bars?
Anyone live near there?

If you like good craft beer, check out El Bait Shop in downtown. Something like 100 on tap and just as many in bottles. The high life lounge is attached to it if you like 70's style bars haha. Shag carpet and cheapo beers. Stay away from the ones right on Court Ave downdown, they are all overcrowded, at least on the weekends.
Titty bars, I've only been to the lumberyard. If you are in West Des Moines there is Beach Girls but I haven't been there. None of them are going to be Seville quality though :(
Where at in town are you staying?

Ah, there isn't much down by the airport, but it's only a few minutes from downtown. What kind of bars do you like?

El Bait Shop is a pretty chill bar/restaurant with a large food selection for decent prices as well as their beer selection, so I guess that is my recommendation.
