Hmm, the X uses 4-bolt mains, but the crank look relatively the same.

Good read for sure.

i guess if I had a 4g I would probably try this, he makes a compelling argument.

Meaning, either keep the balance shafts or re-install as I would probably of removed them.

No idea about that to be honest. Mostly what I know of him is that he's one of the leading experts in the Evo X transmission and has put out a decent number of technical articles on such. From what I've seen, he does very good work and is who I would use if my transmission were to need anything major.

I use him all the time for parts too, legit guy, zero bad things to say about him.

This just reads more like an article posted for SEO purposes.
