Why the Accessport?

I'll be going speed density and the AP's program is much better suited for this rather than RomRaider.

and it makes it easy to switch between pump tune and e85 tune without needing a laptop =)

I understand the speed density part, but the map switching part is the lamest excuse ever to blow 600 bucks on an AP when you can do it for like $6 yourself, or free by using the tps map switch.

Originally I was planning on using a merged Legacy harness, the stock WRX MAF and do an opensource tune. But now, since the car is running 100% WRX wiring I want to take advantage of the better EMS options.

Other than Opensource and AP there really aren't any other reasonably priced programs. Haltech Pro is right around $1,900 and I feel is WAY overkill. I'll have the ability to make all the power I want on the AP and for the price, I can't justify using anything else.

Really no need to use anything else if you're using the WRX ECU. People have been making huge power for years using opensource.

This is true, BUT.

Shane has never done SD with opensource on a Subaru. And unlike AP, OS doesn't feature live data logging, which makes Shane's life harder (Remember, he is my boss). He is more familiar tuning SD with an Accessport, and since he'll be tuning my car it makes sense for me to run it.

I've had people tell me to get tuned by them, even while wearing my DB shirt. It's like, uhhhh really guy? Look at what my shirt says.
