Now that spring is finally here, I'm looking for a good exhaust system.

I've been debating between, Ultimate racing and Dc sports. Anyone recommend one or the other or neither?

Thank you,

Matt

I want something throaty, but not super loud except when stepped on.

With a 2 exit exhaust from a single muffler nothing is really going to be all that loud unless you have a full turbo back.

I like my Magnaflow, its got a nice low rumble. DC sport is kind of a cheaper brand, I personally would avoid it.

Talk to MAP--they sell the magnaflows and can modify them to be a full 3" inlet for cheap--otherwise they come with a 2.5" neck-down that is going to hurt you in the long run.

It's $50 if just bring them the parts disconnected from the car, but if you have them install the exhaust they generally do it for free.

I have the Ultimate Racing Exhaust on my Ralliart. I like it. It is quiet enough to use the Bluetooth without having to turn the volume up all the way, but still has a nice rumble to it.

Magnaflow is the best bang/buck catback on the market. I've had three catbacks on my X: Ultimate Racing, Magnaflow, and Cobb. UR's fit very nicely, but was way too loud and did not have a nice tone to it. Magnaflow's fit well, worked, and was cheap. Cobb's is what I currently have, is my favorite, but costs more than double what the Magnaflow does. If you're doing just the catback don't bother having the 2.5" neck-down removed.

Please don't buy anything from LancerShop, they are a TERRIBLE online retailer. MAP will match or beat any online price, you just have to ask them...I'm willing to bet MAP's price would be way cheaper than LS anyway, talked about marked up.

For comparison sake, I bought my Magnaflow for $405 shipped brand new, paid $30 for a 3" flange & gasket, and a local shop ended up doing the modification/welding for me for free. MAP's price of $50 for the modification is a very good deal though, but again, only get it done if you plan on replacing the cat with either a 3" testpipe or HFC.
