I am just curious if there is something I am missing or what with COP systems. I am planning on doing COP and I have been looking at used COP setups, specifically the JM Fab plate with 300M coils and I am curious why people ask $250 for a $100 plate and $20 worth of coils, is there some other part needed that I don't know about or is everyone selling a COP setup on DSMTuners on crack?

I am curious as to why so many people think they need to waste money on a COP when the stock setup is more than enough for 99% of DSM's.

Honestly just because it looks nicer, plus I need to buy wires still which are like $60 for good ones so might as well pony up a few more bucks and go COP, plus I get an employee discount on JM Fab stuff. I'm buying it either way but I just wanted to make sure I wasn't having a retard moment and missing something that would justify the $250 people ask for them.

I spent close to $200 on my set up. But I bought brand new coils, brand new pigtails and a plate. I also did it more for the looks then anything else

Yeah I was planning on just getting some at U Pull R Parts with pigtails, they have like 6 300M's out there and ask only $5 a coil.

What ignition amplifier are you planning to run?
Just stay stock, i have seen way more issues with COP setups than good working ones.

YES! STAY STOCK unless you use a spark amplifier. That is the whole point of a cop setup. The 300m coils have a different spark dwell time that is not right for a dsm igniter. Its actually a downgrade. Don’t waste your time when the stock coil is good for gobs of power.
Most people who upgrade it are idiots or just want it for a “bling” factor for showing at a car show. I personally have fought more spark brake up problems on people’s cars than anything because of these. Threw a stock coil back on and bam no problems!
