I've been out of the DSM scene for a while now and left it when I traded my last dsm for an 07' R6r. I choose to sell that when my DD died on me and wanted to replace it with something nicer and no loan. Well I've regretted selling my R6 from the get go and wanted to get another bike. I finally picked up a 2006 GSX-R 600 track bike at the end of January. The bike is definitely a project but I knew that going into it. I got some history on the bike and it was bought new from Suzuki as an AMA race bike and was raced by the original owner for some years and then made it through the hands of two other racers before I bought it. The bike finished 1st overall in the novice class for 2012 and 2010. My plan is to clean the bike up, put a new motor in it, make it street legal again, and since it is a race bike prolly take her to the track.

w00t! Another gixxer around! Biggest thing with an ex track bike is to make sure everything is straight. They tend to get banged up on a regular basis. My track bike had a slightly bent swingarm and I didn't know it (was from the previous owner) and caused some handling quirks.

Leo's South FTW! I just went in and had a very large order of mostly misc bolts that I priced out online and ordering the parts through Leo's saved me $25 and that's not including what I saved by not having to pay shipping. This should be the very last parts order for whats needed to put the bike back to street legal.

I bought my first gixxer from Leo's, nice place. I deal with Larson's in Cambridge now that I am on the north side. Now the wait for the nice weather begins...

I haven't updated this in forever but here are the pics from wrapping the bike in gloss pearl white and frozen metallic grey. After this experience I will never vinyl wrap again because of how much of a PITA it was to do. I did successfully wrap the tank in one piece without any seams which is quite a feat.
