Why do you want more weight over the rear tires? Which ones light up when you take off fast? The front ones. That is why muscle cars are jacked up in the back, to transfer weight to the front.

FWD you want weight in the front for more traction...
AWD you want weight in the back because there is more power being put to the rear wheels.

Muscle cars being jacked up is to keep the car as flat as possibly while drag racing. You dont want weight in the front for a muscle car as they are RWD and they will lose traction.

In our cars isnt it 60/40 front and rear? I beleive that is right.

Why deal with the BS of running fockin oct gauge through the car, having a cut off switched cut out and mounted when you can simply lose 20-30 lbs, clean up the bay a bit and simplify the install.
I was thinking of doing the bat in the truck of the SRT just to get the engine bay cleaned up a bit, not for any other purpose. but decided I could deal with a smaller battery up front, and didnt want to cut a hole in my new car.
Small batteries own! This one will be staying under the hood though. I will be mounting the MSD box right on the battery hold down, now I will have room to put the filter in the fender.

you want less weight period..

in fwd's you don't transfer weight to back but remove it completely everywhere you can..

in awd's you try to distribute some but the point is less is more...

From a weight distribution stand point, it makes sense to put the battery in the back.But since our cars understeer like a bitch, it also makes sense to keep it up front.I guess it would come down to personal preference/experience and your purpose(drag, autox, etc)

That battery is expensive and not all that light. I got a 10.8 lb Hawker battery last year for $23 shipped and it has worked perfectly for me. Been trying to find another source for them but have had no such luck.

Yeah, I've been using the one Chris mentioned. I just picked up two for $50. Plan on replacing them at least once a year since they don't last real long. But for weight savings and getting rid of clutter under the hood, they rock. Here's mine.

Hmm, mine is over a year old, sat all winter, then started the car up right away this spring.
