The ethanol gauges cost a lot due to the sensor itself being a small fortune. Haltech is now selling a slightly cheaper sensor that you should be able to use with the Zeitronix, but it's still not cheap. Unless you can somehow find one in a junkyard and get it out of there for cheap.
Baller cars usually datalog fuel pressure and oil pressure as you race also, since often a failure or under performance in one of those systems ends up taking out a motor and there is no good way to tell after the fact unless something obvious like 1 of your 2 fuel pumps stopped working.

Did alittle more research and the gauge it self sells for $199 and the sensor $349.
How you mean Shane, go punk one out from a Flex Fuel Tahoe or something?
I think this gauge is the Shiznit and was talking to my dad about it and well he thinks I'm crazy for sticking with E85 but for the powa I want I don't think it would be a bad investment seeing which stations carry good E85.

Or you could just get the $10 test tube and test it when you fill up...

Sure you could, but thats boring and work :)
Next year I plan to get the new tablet from evoscan and working on logging ethanol content, fuel pressure and oil pressure. Won't be cheap but it will be awesome for checking health of the motor and/or fuel system.
But yes, easy way is just get the tube but its not super accurate but enough to know if you have shit E85.

Sounds messy, and plus who wants to be known as the tuner with a bunch of test tubes in their ride.

accurate enough to tell the difference between e85/e78/e70. It sure as shit would be able to tell you if you have e48.
