The one I test drove drove well. Spooled nice and easy, but one concerning thing I had noticed is that when I disengaged the e-brake and moved the car it was almost stuck. Not cause of the brakes, but felt like it didn't wanna transfer the power at first. Second seemed sticky, but the more I drove it, the better it got. Just didn't seem worth $13,000 to me.
So let me ask this. What would be a good used car to look into for around $10k-14k that is still fun? Looking for more of a Daily but could still have fun with.

I really liked mine, actually bought it instead of getting an EVO in late 2006. I'm looking at another one for a daily to replace the current regular 6 that is coming off lease next spring.
Get a Mazda dealer to pull the history to see if items like the clutch or turbo had been replaced. Those two items where the factory recalls that I had done. Other than that I had no issues and have a few friends with them now as daily drivers and winter rides when they aren't driving a miata or vette respectively. They both really enjoy the comforts as well as the awd. And it's not a slow car by any means, but performance wise it's by no means an EVO either obviously.

For the money, there's lots out there to yes this against and then see what you like.
A4
Jetta GLI (not awe but I gotta throw that in the mix since I own one & love it)
Acura TL (not awd I don't think?)
Scooby 2.5GT
Volvo S60 (R?)
All around the same year, high-ish mileage should go for within your ~$13k budget.

Don't get an S60R, as my as I loved mine they are problem prone especially in winter in MN. Their transfer case has a softer metal and when they hit pavement and ice at the same time they strip the splines. It isn't bad labor wise to replace it, but the part itself is 1800 dollars...

If not a TL, RL's (05+) are really nice!!
