I'm not really a fan of either candidate, but Romney did pretty well.

Romney took lead, Obama didnt bring his game face. They both overstated quite a few things, meh.

yeah i think obama really missed a lot of opportunities to destroy romney. A key line should have been obama saying "Thats not what you said last week" or "another flip flop? what will your republican base think?" or "ARE YOU FUCKING CRAZY?"

I think since those statements are the basis of most Obama commercials, repeating the same rhetoric during the debate would have resulted in him losing even more.

Romney showed up and prepared, Obama didn't. This race will be won by the undecided. Romney is proving daily that he has a plan, Obama just seems to be "waiting out the storm".

We'll see how the next two go, but if Obama roles the same way in those, I think Romney will win this one. :lurk:

No where did Romney really say how hes goin to fix things though, he likes to leave details out. He may want to fill in those gaps otherwise well experience the same hope and change we have now.

No canidate is going to sit on stage for an hour explaining detailed ways they are going to fix the budget, lower taxes, or create jobs. Thats not the stage for it. There are detailed plans by both canidates out there, you just need to find them.

Romney was on the attack, but this is nothing new for a person running against the current President. The last few elections I remember, the current President always got their ass handed to them.

Romney did overstate some points, but so did Obama. They are both greasy, slimey politicians, but out of the two, I have to make a decision based on which is the lesser of two evils.

Now, the BEST part of the whole debate didn't actually happen on stage.

Al Gore... Seriously? He said the reason Obama did poorly at the debate is because of the altitude. He didn't have enough time to get used to the oxygen levels there.

Well Mr. Gore, as we all know, without global warming caused by humans, Denver would not be a habitable environment for any life whatsoever. :P

I don't think it was a matter of Obama not preparing, it's just his record is abysmal for just about everything, and there's only so many ways to try and spin out of that. Romney called him on the major point, ie: economy, jobs, spending, etc. There's really no argument for that, that's why he struggled. And he had his usual talking points, but Romney was prepared for them and more or less shot them down. It went exactly as it should, I'm just glad we've finally got someone that can stand up to Obama, McCain was way too passive and old.

Biden's gotta be shaking in his boots right now, he's really going to get slaughtered in their debate.
