What is my best fix for this?

I want to race tomorrow and I'm sure this is my issue. I'm thinking of just driving to a welder and welding the 2 together.

I hate J-pipes.

I'm all ears.

Post a pic so we can see what hole is striped. Im thinking a stud JB welded into the comp housing at least as a temp fix. I agree J-pipes suck.

heli-coil the turbo? That would be the best way in my opinion, or just drill/tap it out larger for a bigger bolt.

I've dealt with the leaky flanges, I just welded the pipe to the flange solid and called it good.

I figured it out, i just needed a spark to light my fire.

Thanks guys. I figured that I could run a thru bolt and nut. But I think when I get come I will helicoil the turbo for good measure.

If I was 100% keeping the turbo for a long time I'd weld it, but I think for resale most would be scared of having to change their FMIC a bit because if I was welding the J-pipe to it I'd just rotate the housing too.

Besides that, it's not exactly easy to weld a mild steel j-pipe to a powdered aluminum compressor housing.

Just retap the hole for a slightly larger bolt. done.
