I've wanted one of these shortly after I bought my talon from Jim. I was looking for a 4 door summer daily around the $2500 range that got good gas mileage and still looked decent.

Car was located 30 mins south of milwaukee. So I paypaled a down payment and set out pick it up with my brother on July 15th.
Car ran good, but the combo of the auto and 1.5 it had to be shifted threw the gears to really go anywhere. I got pulled over twice in one week for no front plate. Lol

Then two weeks ago I found a full longblock 4g63 in Wisconsin rapids so me and the 36mpg mirage took off to pick it up and made a few different stops at members of widsm.com houses to pick up random things I needed for my 2 G shell. Then on the way home in Eau Claire the little 1.5 had had enough. (still don't know what happened but pulling the motor here in a few days). So now it has officially become a project.

Plans are to keep it simple. From what I've read 5 spd is easier but I really wanna keep it an auto.
I have a 99 7 bolt 2.4 short block that I plan to go through and make sure all is good.
I ordered the patch harness to go from the dash harness to 1g 91-94 engine harness.
I want to run a TL turbo.
If you didn't know these cars are LIGHT under 2300lbs.
So over the winter I'm gonna get the motor looked at and do a stock rebuild on the short block and find a fwd auto trans, boost it and have some summer fun.
I'll add more stuff as the project goes but right now it's just doing research so I can do it once and do it right.
The ultimate goal for the car is to awd it and get around 350-375awhp have it weight sub 2500lbs and be a stock appearing beast!

Car does have an evo3 hood, bumpers, and lights. Currently looking for a front lip and clean deck lid so I can go wingless.
Should be a fun project but is definitely not gonna be done overnight.
