Ok so here's what's going on. I was on the dyno last Friday up at db and was having a large voltage drop so the car couldn't really be tuned up top. Shane thought it would be safe to drive and said to not take it above 7500 rpm. So i got most of the way home and the alternator went out. I put a new alternator in it and then drove it to a friends house, then to work on Saturday, the I drove it some on sarurday evening.

The whole time I was driving it I never brought it high Into the rpms and never went more than maybe half throttle at most. It seemed to run fine the whole time too.

So sunday I went to move the car from my work to my buddies house. Same thing as Saturday seemed to be running fine I was just cruising a long with traffic and it started sputtering then died. I pulled tried restarting it it started with a huge plume of smoke then died and wouldn't restart. So i had it towed to my buddies place.

Today I was checking it out and found the cylinder 3 plug extremely melted. Anybody have any ideas what would cause this without even beating on the car? I'm not sure what the total extent of the damage is yet. Thanks for any input!

Likely detonation... Get it fixed and back on the dyno before driving it more.

What do the rest of your plugs look like? running super lean on a cylinder because of a bad injector? any codes?

The other 3 plugs are just fine. The injectors are new but I suppose one could have malfunctioned. As for codes the cars a 92 talon and on aem so I don't think it would have any codes

Throw a new set of plugs it and pull of the injector plugs and see if ther is/in'nt a change.

Yeah I'm going to get my hands on a bore scope and check out the inside of the cylinder for any damage. I'll just hope for the best and go from there.

Do a compression check to see if all your valves are still good.

Well got in there with a bore scope tonight and there's a nice hole melted in the top of the piston. So I'm going to assume the cylinder Head and valves look about the same as the piston and spark plug
