Taking the '97 GSX to the drag strip tomorrow for the first time. Here's the setup:

62 mm FP turbo, tuned at 27 psi right now, shooting for 30 tomorrow in baby steps
built 6 bolt, 2g head, HKS 264/272 cams, EVO 3 Intake manifold
BFG Drag Radials on 15" enkei rims
93 pump gas, no meth
Car should weigh around 2900 without me
Auto with built converter, shift kit, upgraded end clutches, full line pressure on shifts

Logs today showed right around 54 lb/min up top, or around 500 whp give or take. 70 to 90 MPH time was 1.34 seconds. Trans feels good, car bumbles around on the road like a well-mannered, albeit loud on the inside, Eclipse. So, any guesses? I'll update tomorrow and will be incredibly happy if it makes it through the flogging unharmed, lol.

Ryan's 2G RWD will be there as well just figuring out suspension stuff. He might turn the 35r up to 25 psi or so but I'm not sure how high he's going to take it. I'll try to get some video of the day...

Sounds fun. Our tracks should be opening up soon too. You have an auto right?

Yep, auto.

Scheides, please leave the word "bust" out of this thread, lol.

I'd say low 11s at 125 or so.

After tomorrow, I'm swapping in FP2 cams, an LSD rearend, and going back to E85. Should be fun to see what kind of differences I might see.

I just picked up an auto LSD rear end w/axles today. Don't wanna cloud your thread but did you break or think you were gonna break your non-LSD's. Just wondering when I should swap them out.

Not at all - I just think an LSD will ultimately help save the axles a little through better torque distribution and will put up better 60' times. I don't think either is stronger than the other per se. I will be putting in Andrew Kisner's beefed up diff cover though... debating on whether I should just get better axles at that point or not.

I think on a good launch and clean pass 10's shouild be easy. Good luck today.
