I think your best bet is to buy upgraded axles at dsmgraveyard.com I think thats what Chris had to do as finding one local was impossible. Or try tuners you may find a set.

I have heard you can buy a new front axle and just remove the front piece and swap it on the back. Anyone object to this? has it been done before? I really don't feel like spending $500 on axles.

I'd have to research but think the auto LSD axles are the same. If so may have some fire sale in a couple weeks.
