I copy pasted this(below) from Craigslist. But everyone needs to email, call, contact our state representatives who support this. Make a clear message you are against this movement. I have emailed both Amy Klobuchar and Al Franken on this issue(our other two representatives oppose this movement).

Thanks for the link, that's great!! I even included a personal rant that if either bill passes it will be proof that $60+ million of lobbying can get less important things done than taking care of unemployment and restoring the economy! :P

Ive actually been following this since its introduction last year. and posted many times on my Facebook and in the SB about it. It was shitty legislation then, and even more-so now because it actually has chances of passing.
The original DARPA project (what created what we know of now as the internet and WWW) was to create a network of computers and servers that would never be able to be regulated due to the fact that it crosses international borders. By the US government trying to pass this legislation it is putting a stake in the heart of what the internet was created for, freedom to pass information around the world.
The main concerns i have about this:
- When you create a system where the government can censor what it believes to be piracy or otherwise, you will essentially take freedom of speech and expression away from the people much like North Korea and Iran do.
- If this passes, we will open ourselves up to what may be the largest hacker attack the internet has ever seen. Think about all of the people that are disgusted by this piece of shit legislation, Anonymous, The Pirate Bay, and a large number of other people around the world are ready to give a huge backlash to the gov for this.
- The people who wrote this legislation and are the sponsors KNOW NOTHING ABOUT COMPUTERS. WTF. seriously these people are puppets of the MPAA and other terrorist corporations that only want your money. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/01/19/jon-stewart-rips-sopa-pro_n_1215689.html i love this video of Jon, and the fact that everyone was calling on the Nerds, and that they wanted a march of nerds to actually consult on this.
