I was chatting with the parts manager, Mark, at Brookdale Mitsubishi yesterday. He confirmed with me that he is not offering the Mitsu community the same discount as we once had with them. We use to enjoy a 20% off the Mitsubishi retail price. Most Mitsu dealers also have what they call a "matrix" price list. This "matrix" price list is probably 10 to 20% higher than the Mitsubishi retail price. So Brookdale Mitsu is only giving us 20% off the "matrix" price. So, bottom line, you'll be paying just a small amount under the Mitsubishi retail price. :( Brookdale had changed this pricing on us a while ago. Probably 6 or 12 months ago. So some of you have been probably paying the higher price for awhile.

He is still offering myself and a few select others that he knows and trust the 20% off of the Mitsu list price. But it still irritates me that the discount for everyone is gone. It irritates me enough to start buying my parts online. At least for bigger purchases.

What I now recommend is buying from one of the good online sellers:
http://www.mitsubishiparts.net/parts.php
http://www.oemmitsubishiparts.com/
http://www.trademotion.com/partlocator/index.cfm?siteid=213934
http://www.partswebsite.com/cherryhilltriplex/

I'm going to try Cherry Hill for my next purchase. I'm going to save my receipts and eventually show them to Brookdale so they can see what they are missing. If you guys have any recent receipts from online parts places, send me a copy also. I'd love to give them a stack or receipts.

What is really sad is I've been buying my parts from the local dealers for the last 14 years. I've NEVER bought Mitsu parts online. But Brookdale is forcing my hand.

I'm going to put this information on all three of the local Mitsu boards. This information pertains to all the Minnesota Mitsubishi owners.

Thanks,
Curt

Brookedale has turned into a real POS dealership from a parts and warranty perspective. I'll continue supporting my local dealership down here since they offer great discounts and prices on parts, labor, cars, etc. plus sponsor numerous track days and club events each year. Brookdale could really take a lesson from Don Herring on what it means to support the community and earn business.

Ah, that is a massive bummer. It isn't convenient for me to go to brookdale (live in bloomington) but I always went out of my way and bought everything from them to support them for giving back to the mitsu community. I've spent a ton of money there. I'll also most likely just save myself the trip and order online now as well.

It is too bad, I got to know and like a lot of the guys in the parts department. They are always so much more helpful than parts guys at any other dealer, from what I've experienced.

This is not very cool. After letting their sponsorship slide by just offering us this discount I am very disappointed. Thanks for the info.

Time to pull them from the site, and my recommendations. Moving onto online ordering then.

Wow thats crazy. The only time I was ever treated well there as a car shopper was when I would talk to two salesman that owned Evo's. Other than that my experiences there haven't ever been that positive.

I wonder if we contacted White Bear Lake Mitsu if they would offer us the discount / sponsor the site?

I remember emailing scheides in the spring as we bought close to 1K in parts putting two cars back together about this "discount". The way I found out they gave me the price with the discount per headstud, (had none in stock). So I called WBL mitsu and they offer the same part for the exact price as the discount. Needless to say I paid retail for everything I needed, but thought I was getting the "GOOD" discount. Even when I asked them they reassured me that I was getting it.

Im going else where for OEM parts. Thanks Curt for the good links.

Kracka we get 20% at ur dealership?

Edit: Looks like their pulled as a sponsor!

Im not worried about it, I was just referring back to an example and how long ago the discount actually was not available thats all. You didn't hold a gun to my face and say buy from here. LOL. I needed the parts regardless.

Just sucked that they said, "Thats the good discount." Liars
