I'm not going to the track at all this year. Mostly because I have an automatic and they are worthless for drag racing. :)

You are probably right, once is enough for you for 5 years anyways. :rollinglaugh:

Aaron don't take this the wrong way, but how many times did you go drag racing last year? Once? I went once, and twice the year before that (my first year doing it). I'll probably go once or twice this year too...

Isn't that about all anyone can actually afford to do these days?

I'm not taking it the wrong way at all sadly my financial/work situation doesn't allow me to make it more than I did. Plus working weekends and not being employed most of the year also didn't help.

But I for one love drag racing and if i was working full time I'd make it at least once a month. Cars are my number one hobby/fav. thing in the world this isn't something I stumbled on after some movie or because I was bored.

There are plenty of people out there like yourself that can do all kinds of racing, and there are that do. I did make one auto-x day last year too.

How much does it actually cost?

But you see, free time and having a full time job are inversely proportional :)

I guess you lost me, can you re-phrase that?

I understand that, hence why I'm taking the free time I have right now to do all the things that I don't seem to get to when I am busy working full time.

The last part refers to money, people like yourself that work full time and have the funds available can race whenever they want when it comes to the money part of it.
For me, spending money on racing when it should be going elsewhere wouldn't be wise, however it is my take that people need to enjoy life a bit too.

Its ok, clearly you are against my thread that for me has been helpful in seeing who is interested in going drag racing, not just at MAPs event so I know who to call. I know there are some that do not care for it at all and probably roll there eyes during the season when threads about it get posted.

You other thread also shows that poor people need not apply so I will try to stay out of the way until they allow EBT at events i guess.

How the hell did this get twisted into something about people with money vs. those without?

Im pretty sure poor people race more than ones with money, look at demolition derbys, truck pulls and muddin contests.

eeernt wrong!! I work full time and now I have to decide, should I mod the living shit out of my car and blow money racing, or pay off debt, save for retirement, and/or help out family members that are in dire straits?

There's a reason I only went drag racing once last year, and it's the exact same reason as you ;)

So back on topic, if you wanna go drag racing this summer, post on up!

I'm in :) May dates? June is prolly gonna be the MAP event for me, July is a maybe and Early September is a great time to go to RF, esp on test & tune days.
