View Full Version : Gas Prices
2 or 3 years ago ecoli told me about a guy he knew around here that ran e85. said he had to dump a ton of extra gas to run at similar power levels, but i believe the story ended in the guy blowing his motor so he didn't have much more to report. it's been forever, but maybe e still knows the guy

With a well thought out E85 setup, you'd only be using 25%-30% more fuel.Alcohol fuels have others benefits as well, JET mentioned some.Bottomline- 80 cents a gallon for 95-105(seasonal) octane E85 vs. $2.20 for 92 octane gas makes it definately worth a try(for me at least)
Actually the E85 only runs $.10 - $.20 cheaper than regular gas. That $.85/gal thing over the weekend was just a promotion for the weekend. There is talk about adding more E85 incentives, so you may see the price drop on it in the future.

My physics class had the idea to run cars off of compressed hydrogen. I wonder how that would work?

I've heard of vehicles using hydrogen as a supplement to increase gas mileage, but I don't think it would be too practical as the main fuel.It would be great though, since all you have to do is throw a couple of electrodes into water to produce it.

I heard it was 80 cents a gallon on the news the other night, I didn't realize it was just a promotion.Anyway, from reading info on the various Corn Growers Associations websites, I get the impression the price has no where to go but down.

Anybody notice the drop in gas prices over the past few days? I think it's dropped about 20 cents in the past week. So now everyone can quit their bitchin!!! It's down to $1.97 for 87 octane now here in Burnsville. Granted we can't run that but ours is down in price as well.
yeah the amaco off 212 / 62 was 1.99 this morning and the SA down the street was 2.07 still. Gas will just be like this all summer. Up and down, up and down. Like a good girl
