Hi just trying to get some thoughts on my problem, ive done some research and working on the car when i get time...its a 95 TSi,50 trim (brand new) supporting mods....basically HG went out (stock hg and bolts at the time), HG got replaced, after replacement, ran the car for about 10mins, and "clap clap clap" valves hit the piston (lil plastic piece from cover fell into oil pump pulley causing it to jump teeth)...after that bought a head from a guy supposedly rebuilt with 10k (he said by steve gb) (looked as such, hot tanked etc) put the head back on...and started the car, first thing i noticed is lots of smoke after about 2 mins, let it run to see if itd stop, but no, never stopped...took ex. manifold off, and there it is oil on the ex. ports mainly cyl#1 then 2 3 and barely 4....as far as i could tell some oil on top of the piston as well...havent done a comp test yet, talked to a machinist his thoughts on it are that when valves hit the piston the rings mightve gotten off their seat causing it to leak that bad, also said if valve seals or guides were bad it wouldnt leak that much and it would somehow stop when warm, mine keeps leaking...ill post pics
Important notes that might help: HG (felpro) mightve gotten scratched or damaged since head moved on it a couple times when putting the head on, havent retorqued the studs (arps), taking the head off soon. Thanks

If your ring are bad one piston I would think the car would start and run funny. The valve seals could be junk. I would have the head checked before digging into the motor. I never heard of the rings unseating from it hitting the valves. But anything can happen. Have the head checked then go from there.

Just an update i pulled the head off and the hg had oil on it on both sides, also on top of the block there was oil and coolant, the pistons had coolant on them...thinking my hg wasnt fully sealing...posting pics shortly

nope just a regular parts store felpro, doubt block is 100% straight so i went with that. I could use a permatorque, hoping its just the HG since its not so cheap ha.
